Kudos to you for beginning or continuing your wellness journey!

I started my career in mental health in 2006 after graduating from Rutgers with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Previously working in the education field for over five years, I took a position working as a Behavioral Assistant with adolescents and youth. Shortly after, my road led to the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP) in the State of New Jersey, where I have worked fervently in stabilizing the homes of children and families for the past sixteen years. While working with the State, I have served in the capacity of various roles including, Family Service Specialist, Screener, Special Response team member and a Supervising Family Service Specialist for the past seven years. Throughout all roles, I have prided myself in helping families make change by meeting them where they are and guiding them along the way. In 2017, I decided to go back to school after many, many years. I attended and graduated from Monmouth University in 2020 with a Master’s of Social Work, and became a Licensed Social Worker in 2021. I believe that it is never too late to reach one’s goals despite any obstacles that impede on progress.

I am passionate about providing a safe, secure and judgement free space through trauma informed practices. I have been clinically trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and other Psychodynamic theories. I am bilingual in English/Spanish. Allow me to meet you exactly where you are in your journey, and guide some of the steps to get you where you want to be. I look forward to working with you!

Walking the path toward change can seem daunting, but I would be honored to help and walk by your side. As a bicultural and bilingual therapist, I strive to create a safe and judgment-free space for my client’s therapeutic experience. I am a Licensed Social Worker and completed my master’s program with a concentration on working with Hispanic families. I conduct sessions in English, Spanish, or a mix of both languages.

Driven by my passion to aid clients through their therapy journey, I provide a safe space to express feelings and life experiences. I integrate different perspectives and modalities of treatment based on your specific needs. Some of those forms of treatment could include, but aren’t limited to, using strengths perspectives, a solution-based approach, analyzing attachment styles, mindfulness strategies, and emotionally or somatically focused approaches.

In our sessions, we will identify the change you wish to see in your life, set goals, and create a path towards achieving them. The plan is custom-tailored to you and your needs using a holistic approach. There are many aspects of what makes you who you are, so we explore the connections between your mind, body, heart, and spirit. During your session, I encourage you to share your experiences with social, spiritual, and cultural practices/beliefs so that we integrate them into your customized plan. Together, we can work towards the change you seek.

While working in the field of hospice, I support clients and their families as they face the many challenges that manifest at the end of life. My other field experience is working with homebound seniors and co-facilitating group therapy with neurodivergent clients. I am an ally to the LGBTQIA+ and alternative lifestyle communities. My mission is to offer our diverse community culturally sensitive and inclusive therapy through honoring a client’s intersecting identities.
