Yudelka Columna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker utilizing a strengths based and trauma informed approach in an empathetic, safe, and ethical environment serving individuals, children, adults, and families presenting with challenges including suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, trauma, behavioral issues, and immigration issues. She provides services including solution focused therapy, psychoeducation, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based and trauma informed treatment modalities.
Yudelka emigrated from the Dominican Republic where she received multiple awards as a top student and graduated with a degree in Business Administration at APEC University in Santo Domingo. She obtained her master’s degree in social work specializing in cultural competence, helping diverse populations, from the Richard Stockton College of NJ. She received post-graduate training in Integrative Health Care from the University of Massachusetts.
Yudelka has more than 15 years of experience helping people in different settings. She has worked as a Bilingual Family Service Specialist at the Department of Child Protection and Permanency of New Jersey (DCPP) assisting families dealing with child abuse and neglect. She has worked as a therapist in outpatient settings such as Federal Qualified Health Care Centers, and has experience providing Intensive In-Home therapy through the New Jersey Children’s Systems of Care (PerformCare).
Yudelka speaks English and Spanish; she is friendly, genuine, down to earth, with strong engagement and listening skills. Yudelka works to ensure her clients feel safe in a nonjudgmental and compassionate environment as she helps them on their healing journey.
