Yudelka Columna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker utilizing a strengths based and trauma informed approach in an empathetic, safe, and ethical environment serving individuals, children, adults, and families presenting with challenges including suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, trauma, behavioral issues, and immigration issues. Yudelka emigrated from the Dominican Republic where she received multiple awards as a top student and graduated with a degree in Business Administration at APEC University in Santo Domingo. She obtained her master’s degree in social work specializing in cultural competence, helping diverse populations, from the Richard Stockton College of NJ. She received post-graduate training in Integrative Health Care from the University of Massachusetts.

Yudelka has more than 15 years of experience helping people in different settings. She has worked as a Bilingual Family Service Specialist at the Department of Child Protection and Permanency of New Jersey (DCPP) assisting families dealing with child abuse and neglect. She has worked as a therapist in outpatient settings such as Federal Qualified Health Care Centers, and has experience providing Intensive In-Home therapy through the New Jersey Children’s Systems of Care (PerformCare).

I work with young adults, adults across the life span and couples facing relationship conflicts. I also work with individuals and family members affected by substance use and co-dependence issues. I am a compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental, with over 15 years of experience helping others. Each client is different. I begin with a thorough assessment, and then together, my client and I tailor a treatment plan of action.

I use an integrated approach that combines behavioral and psychodynamic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Brief Psychotherapy; Behavioral Activation, Emotional Focus Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Focused Treatment.
